Of course there's the Cannes' Festival just a few miles away. But Antibes too has a tight connection with cinema. In 1983, the Bond movie Never Say Never Again was filmed in the Fort Carré, which represented the ancient city of Palmyra. Many of the sequences of Luc Besson's The Big Blue were shot in Marineland, a vast aquatic park in Antibes. More recently, Rust and Bone, starring Oscar winner Marion Cotillard, was also filmed there.
The cinema in Antibes is called Le Casino and is a 3 minute walk from our apartment. You can watch movies in the original language or in French. And there are plenty of restaurants and bars close by!
